Customizing CRM Dashboard Free Tool Visual CSS Editor Chrome Extension

Understanding the CRM Dashboard

Before diving into customization, it's important to understand that the CRM dashboard, particularly at the sub-account level, does not offer built-in customization options. This limitation means that users cannot directly change colors or edit the dashboard's appearance within the CRM itself. However, with the help of external tools, it's possible to overcome this limitation and achieve a customized look.

Finding the Right Tool for Customization

To customize your CRM dashboard, you'll need to use a Chrome extension called "Visual CSS Editor." This tool is available for free in the Chrome Web Store. Once installed and pinned to your toolbar, it allows you to modify the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) of the CRM dashboard directly from your browser. It's important to note that this method is currently only available for Chrome users.

Steps for Customizing the Dashboard

Accessing the Visual CSS Editor: Open your CRM dashboard and click on the Visual CSS Editor icon in your Chrome toolbar. This action will load the editor, revealing toolbars for customization.

Selecting Elements to Customize: Hover over different areas of the dashboard you wish to customize. For example, to change the color of title bars to match your brand colors, click on a card header to select it.

Applying Customizations: After selecting an element, use the editor's options to change its appearance. For instance, you can change the background color of card headers to your brand's color. Repeat this process for each element you wish to customize.

Exporting CSS Code: Once you're satisfied with the changes, use the export feature of the Visual CSS Editor to generate the CSS code for your customizations. Copy this code for the next step.

Applying CSS to the CRM: Navigate to the agency level of your CRM and access the "Company" area. Here, you'll find an option to add custom CSS. Paste the code you copied earlier into this section and update the company settings. This action will apply your customizations across all sub-accounts.

Important Considerations

  • The changes you make using the Visual CSS Editor are not permanent and can be adjusted or removed at any time.
  • Customizations applied at the agency level will affect all sub-accounts, so consider the impact on the overall look of your CRM.
  • Refresh your browser to see the applied changes, as caching issues may initially hide them.
