Email Events Trigger

Email events capture valuable insights into how recipients engage with email content, such as opening the email or unsubscribing from marketing communications. The Email Event trigger is designed to initiate a workflow whenever a specific email event occurs, notifying businesses of significant customer actions in response to their emails, and enabling you to adjust your recipient list or refine your email strategies.

Add the trigger to your workflow to get started!

Add Filters

Add filters to choose the event that will fire the workflow, or limit the trigger to only retrieve data on emails within a particular workflow.

When configuring a trigger based on email events, the Event filter enables users to select the specific event that will activate the trigger from a sent email. Available options include email Bounced (Mailgun only), Clicked, Complained (the contact reports the email as spam), Opened, or Unsubscribed.

The In Workflow filter allows you to select a specific workflow to search for events when setting up a trigger. Utilize the search bar to locate the desired workflow with ease.

This filter enables you to move contacts from other workflows into a more targeted workflow, where you can provide tailored information. Alternatively, it allows you to remove contacts from all workflows and mark them as Do Not Disturb (DND)—typically for contacts who have marked emails as spam, bounced, or unsubscribed—helping to protect your email deliverability and maintain a positive sender reputation.

These filters can be combined according to your preference for a more targeted approach.

Save the trigger once you are pleased with its configuration, then add the appropriate workflow actions.

By leveraging this trigger, you can enhance your email marketing strategies and drive improved customer engagement.
