Create & Use SMS Templates
SMS templates are pre-written text messages that can be used for various communication needs, saving time and ensuring consistency in your messaging. These templates are particularly useful for frequently sent messages, allowing for quick and efficient communication without the need to type out each message individually.
Creating an SMS Template
Accessing the Template Section:
- Navigate to the sub-account or location where you wish to create the SMS template.
- Click on the "Marketing" tab, then find and select "Templates" at the top of the page.
- Click the green "Add Template" button and choose "Add Text Template" from the dropdown menu.
Composing Your Template:
- Start by giving your template a descriptive name that clearly indicates its purpose.
- Compose your message in the provided field. Here, you can include custom values and trigger links for more dynamic messaging. (For more details on using trigger links, refer to the related how-to video.)
- Optionally, attach a file or include a file via URL to enhance your message.
Preview and Testing:
- A preview of your SMS will be displayed to the right, showing how it will appear when sent.
- To test the message, enter a cell number in the designated field and click "Send Test."
Saving Your Template:
- Once satisfied with your template, click "Save" to add it to your list of SMS templates.
Managing SMS Templates
- Editing and Deleting:Your list of SMS templates can be found within the "Templates" section.

- To edit a template, click on the "Edit" icon next to the desired template.
- To delete a template, click on the "Delete" icon.
Utilizing SMS Templates in Conversations
Accessing Templates in Conversations:
- Go to the "Conversations" tab when you need to respond to a message using an SMS template.
- Click on "SMS" and then the "Insert Template" icon to open the template selection screen.
Selecting and Using a Template:
- Use the dropdown menu to view and select from your list of templates.
- Click on the template you wish to use, then click "Use Template." The message field will automatically populate with your chosen template.

I can't find my template in the list. What should I do?
- Ensure you are in the correct sub-account or location where the template was created. Templates are specific to each sub-account.
How can I test multiple templates quickly?
- You can send test messages to your own number or to a designated test number to see how each template appears when received.
