Agency Dedicated Domain

Setting Up Your Agency's Dedicated Domain

Introduction:

In this guide, we will explain how to establish a dedicated domain for your agency. This dedicated domain will be used as the default for new customers when they sign up. It's also the domain for agency-level notifications, such as password reset emails and new user notifications. Setting up this dedicated domain is crucial for enhancing email delivery for both the agency and its sub account clients.

Why You Need an Agency Dedicated Domain:

If you don't set up an Agency Dedicated Domain, both the agency and new accounts will use GHL's fallback domain. This is not recommended as it can affect email deliverability.

Setting Up Your Agency's Dedicated Domain

1. Begin by logging into your account and navigate to the agency view.

2. Look for "Agency Settings" and then click on "Email Services" to configure your agency's dedicated domain.

Note that you must already have migrated to LC email. If you haven't, refer to our "How to Migrate My Agency Over to LC - Email" article for assistance.

3. Click the 'Dedicated domain' button, and then click the 'Add Services' button.

4. Enter your domain name in the provided box. It's generally recommended to use a sub-domain. For example, use "mail.yourawesomedomain.com" rather than just "yourawesomedomain.com."

5. Click "Add & verify."

6. Click "continue." If the system can identify your registrar, it will allow you to sign in, and the system will automatically add the necessary DNS records for you. If it cannot find your registrar, it will provide you with the records that you will need to manually enter into your DNS settings.

7. After adding the DNS records, you can click "Verify Records." It may take some time, but if it takes an extended period for ALL the records to be verified, double-check that you entered them correctly and consider reaching out to support.

Location Settings:

In the email service tab, you will find another tab at the top called "Location Settings." This tab provides key information about:

- Whether they are using LC email or another provider.

- The domain connected to their subaccount.

- If email validation is turned on.

- If email rebilling is enabled.

You can also make edits to some of these settings on that page.
