Google Business Profile Emails: What They Mean

Google sends a lot of emails about your Business Profile. Here's which ones are routine and which ones to forward to us.

Google sends Business Profile owners a steady stream of email. Most of it is routine. A couple are worth acting on fast.

Routine. Read it and move on.

  • Your monthly performance report. "139 people viewed your business last month" and similar. It's a snapshot of views, calls, and clicks.
  • Someone left a review. Your cue to reply. See How to Reply to Your Google Reviews.

Check these within a day or two

  • "Review new changes to your Business Profile." Google sometimes updates your hours, phone, or other info based on what it finds online or what people suggest. Open your profile and make sure everything is still right. If something's wrong, fix it or forward the email to us.
  • Someone invited you to manage a profile. Only accept if you expected it.

Forward these to us right away

  • A "further verification" email. Google wants to confirm you still run the business. Don't ignore it. Forward it to support@earnworthy.com and we'll walk you through it.
  • Anything about a suspended profile or a policy problem.

FAQ

Why did Google change my hours without asking?

Google pulls info from lots of places. That's why it's worth checking your profile when you get a "changes" email.

Do these have anything to do with Amplify?

They come straight from Google. If we're a manager on your profile, we may get copies too.

What about Search Console emails?

Those are about your website, not your profile. See Google Search Console Emails: Which Ones to Ignore.
