You can send your newsletter from Amplify and stop paying for a second email tool. The contacts, the emails, and the replies all land in one place. Here's how to move it over without losing anyone.
On Amplify you send it yourself. On Amplify Growth, we also send you a templated monthly email, and you can still send your own newsletter whenever you want.
Step 1: Bring your list over
In your old tool, export your subscribers as a CSV file. Then follow Preparing and Importing Your Contact List.
Two things matter most. Leave out anyone who unsubscribed, because mailing them breaks the law and hurts your delivery. And add a tag to the import, like "newsletter," so you can find this group again.
Step 2: Pick the address it comes from
Customers see your business name and an address on your domain, like hello@yourbusiness.com. If you want it to come from a person, like your director, we can set that up. Email support@earnworthy.com with the address and the name people should see. See What Address Your Emails Come From.
You can also send replies somewhere else. In the next step, there's a reply-to setting for each email.
Step 3: Build the email
- Go to Marketing, then Emails, then Campaigns, and click + New.
- Pick a template, or start blank.
- Write it short. Put the main point in the first lines.
- Add your links, like a sign-up page or an event.
- Check the footer. Every marketing email needs a working unsubscribe link.
Step 4: Send a test
Click the three dots next to Preview and choose Test Email. Send it to yourself and open it on your phone. Test emails don't count in your results, and the unsubscribe link is switched off in them. If it doesn't show up, see Test Email Not Arriving?.
Step 5: Pick the list and send
- Click Send or Schedule.
- Fill in the sender name and sender address.
- Add the subject line and a short preview text.
- Under Recipient (To), choose your newsletter tag or a Smart List.
- To send replies to a different inbox, turn on Set a custom reply-to address for this campaign and enter it.
- Choose Send Now, or Schedule for a date and time.
Scheduled sends use your account's time zone. Check it before you schedule.
Want to leave some people out? See How to Exclude People From an Email. Sending a big list? See How to Send an Email in Drip Mode.
Step 6: Check the results
Open the campaign from the Campaigns list to see how many emails were delivered, opened and clicked. Replies go to the reply-to address you chose, so make sure someone checks it.
